Journey of My Hair

Time for a shallow, somewhat vain post... Each time I grow my hair out (once every few years at least), there's one particular day where it's FINALLY official: ALL strands of hair go back in the binder. No stragglies. Today, my friends, is that momentous day. Happy Pony Tail Day!

In celebration, thought it would be fun to explore the journey of my hair this past decade or so. At age 24, I discovered the joy of having a professional hairstylist - and have been making up for lost time ever since. People tease that my hair changes every time they see me; you be the judge...

You always have such lovely style. And I have been apart of at least 3 different shade changes. I think honey-blond being my favorite. You are also the only other friend I know who wore a wreath of flowers in her hair at her wedding. I did too.

Happy Pony Tail Day! I'll probably never get there again myself . . .

You are beautiful in all your hairdos!!!

Aww, shucks - thanks, you two!

pw: Cool about the flowers; I didn't know that. I was really particular about not wanting a veil - from a pretty early age. The daisies and roses in the wreath were symbols of innocence and passion.

Swirling: Long hair is so hard to get to unless YOU really, really want it... time to let yourself off the hook? :-) You've always had great hair - dark and thick.. I think it's hot short and spiky too!

P.S. Swirling: I know memories of that night were foggy after the Polynesian desserts - but I'm not sure that's you with the green bush on his head... think you might have been taking the picture. He was quite the dance instructor, that's for sure! "No, WITH the music..." ;-)

Your wedding-hair was gowageous; but best I think was the red Bahama-hair.

Nice yella pants, Ed. At first I thought it was a grass skirt...the funny thing is I wasn't in the least surprised.

I wanted flowers in my hair too, but they're not authorised with Dress Blues.

You have come a long way baby! You have had so much fun with your hair. I have colored my hair once and no one can tell - maybe I should go to your stylist. I love that all the hair stages you two look in love!!

Swampy - too bad about the uniform etiquette; you'd have been sweet with a daisy tucked behind one ear. :-) I secretly like the red Bahama hair best too; I keep wanting to grow it out once every few years though, until it gets too gray for it to look good. ;-)

You are so pretty V. Not too mention brave. I'm going for that 80's feathered look again.
Almost there! :-)

what to do with hair??!!! it's always such a conundrum for me... V- it looks like you've gracefully avoided "the perm"... once we both hit 50 we should give hair extensions a try !!! (Ed included)

I love your spunk, V.
I want to know where the photo is of you with red SPIKY hair? I know I took one for proof on a youth retreat (when we were leaders.)
My personal favorite on you is blond. :)

Say, where do you get all the cool clip art?

KJ - I looked ALL over for a picture of my red, spiky hair, and the best I could do was the swing picture (where I had a hat on). That was before we started digitizing things... :-)

Hey! Do you have a blog yet???

I personally love the fact that you are willing to experiment and have fun with your hair. I loved the way it looked the last time I saw you in person, but you look good in many styles. I appreciate that you are willing to be different, especially since there are those in the S family who believe that one should have the same exact hairstyle for 50+ years!

I'm little behind in my blog life but I think it's pretty cool that
Swirling didn't change much throught all your changes!
