There is general consensus amongst those who know him that Ed is unusually smart. He has one of those brains where stuff gets sucked in and never falls out. He's humble about it though, you know? Insists that everyone's smart in their own way, blah, blah, blah...But no matter what he says, and though he doesn't act like a 'knowitall', it's still obvious to most of us that his IQ is way beyond average. He proved it the other day - took an online IQ test and scored 138. Average is 100! Only 3 wrong out of 30 questions.
Do you agree that Ed should pack his bags and head to 'Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?' If so - leave a comment; I'm starting a petition... ;-)

Yeah, because those internet IQ tests are SO reliable and scientific. I'm a frickin genius. Anyone who has ever tried to explain the game of football to me or seen me try to do anything mechanical knows that.
Ed should so pack his bags. You don't have to take apart an engine or talk about pop culture on the show - just questions from school.

Well, Ed's right about the internet tests not necessarily being valid or reliable...HOWEVER, I wouldn't be surprised if his IQ really were 138 or higher. Those tests do give a pretty good estimation for the purposes of lay people. The fun thing about this number, if it were official, would qualify him to join Mensa, the high IQ society. The other thing, statistically, is that the mean is 100. There is a standard deviation of 15, meaning that 68% of the population falls between 85-115 and that 95% of the population falls between 70-130. Just 2.5% of the population scores above 130. Ed getting a score of 138 means that he is in the top 1% of IQ scores, or that 99% of the population has a lower IQ than he does. Hello! I'd say WICKED smart, no matter WHAT he protests, and no matter what your view of IQ tests. Not that I'm biased toward my bro. :)
