What I Like About 'E'ou

Let's continue the dialogue about MB Types started last week. I'm not an extravert, but I have close friends who are. Again, this list doesn't INclude all EXtraverts or EXclude all INtroverts - but here are some things I like (and am, actually, in awe of) about the 'E's I'm thinking of:

They...
20. Sprout horns (in a good way) past 10:30 PM.
19. Can 'do life' with one another via phone.
18. Exude joy in mixing and matching friendships (like wine connoisseurs).
17. Tend to be thoughtful champions of b-days and celebration.
16. Have a direct mind-mouth hook-up conducive to humor and killer wit.
15. Still remember how to play.
14. Can be energized by maintaining a conversation.
13. Sometimes analyze less and can have thicker skin.
12. Have a gift for 'getting the word out'.
11. Look forward to supporting one anothers' sales parties.
10. Can have fun at the State Fair - and Christmas shopping.
9. Can be effective multi-taskers.
8. Are naturals at creating and SUSTAINING community.
7. Tend to be good gift-givers.
6. Can maintain long-distance relationships well.
5. More easily remember what they (and others) like to DO (activities).
4. Verbalize easily; a trait often perceived as honesty.
3. Come home from parties with energy left to do something (besides nap).
2. Have mastered the art of processing and talking simultaneously.
1. What you see is, often, what you get (in the best of ways).

Extraverts: are there any not-so-fun parts of being an extravert? The rest of us are dying to know! Introverts: what do YOU appreciate about your 'E' buddies?

Extraverts tend to speak before they think--at least in my case. That's gotten me in trouble many times in my life!
Also, quick decisions--same trouble.

I love the ability to play and the joy that they bring to my life (my DH, son and one daughter).

Diahrea of the mouth is the problem in my case. Also, when yo uare not outgoing people think you are sick - although I did go out wiht Laura after we had dinner last night.

In reference to #4, I am a very good liar.
I suppose this could be one of those "not-so-fun" parts for me, but I guess I just don't see it that way. Possibly another fault?
For me it's definitely that I speak before I think. A LOT.
As for quick decisions? I'm very slow. Kristi, isn't that a J vs P characteristic?

I too have the problem of talking too much. I can be talking and the thought will cross my mind that I really should shut up because I am talking too much. But for some reason, unknown to me or my husband, I am unable to stop.

I admire how 'I's are able to be mysterious. 'I's have the ability to keep some of themselves to them self. While often time extraverts have this need to share everything with everybody. 'I's often sound smart or funny. When you do talk, it's to say something very wise or extremly funny.

As an extravert, I always feel as if I am all over the place. 'I's seem as if they have it more pulled together.

I'm supposed to be an introvert, but so many of those things apply to me..

Interesting, Swampy... You might be like Ed; he tests as an introvert (and comes across as one the first time you meet him) - but he IS often energized by being around people.

And really, that's the bottom line - whether you're mostly energized by people, or mostly energized by being alone. You do seem like you can do both very well...

My sister is an 'E' and I love how her brain and mouth seem to be connected. She is very witty. Quick to do everything, excellent multitasker...
In school as you know V, I got the award for quietest talker, she however got the award for class clown....

I call Ari an "emotional exhibitionist." I like his openness and willingness to share himself with whomever he happens to be around. He's socially generous.

V, do you think of me as an introvert or extrovert? Let's hang out again sometime. I miss you! Your 'lil sis.

'lil V - Your ISFJ address is permanently coded into my head from 2 years ago at LATTE... :-) So - I think of you as an introvert. But - you seem more like Ed to me; an 'I' who can handle being around people more often than I can. :-)

I miss you too! Can't wait to see you and worship together tomorrow... I love our voice/heart-blend. Love you!
