In the Moment, Over Time

Ever have one of those life 'moments' where you get a glimpse of where you are - and, with it, where you've come from seems less important, serving only to magnify the beauty of the moment you're in? Today is one of those days for me. In this moment, I am aware of the following things:

1. There is much to be thankful for.
2. Precious few things are worthy of fear.
3. Love covers over a whole bunch of crap.
4. Time heals deep hurt.
5. Grace is afoot.
6. Joy comes with wanting what we have.
7. In God, nothing is wasted.
8. The good stuff is just a taste of what's possible.
9. Thank God He doesn't always give us what we think we want.
10. The Peace to come might look different than what we thought.

Wow, that is a great picture. I forgot how good some of those were!

#2 - Yeah!

Hon, you are shining as a mother and I can't tell you how happy and thankful I am that you bring that attitude (from your list) to our family. Thanks for reminding us about all those things. So true!

I've had many of those moments where it seems to put my life back into perspective (usually when things are chaios, and I have a moment to sit & breath & reflect). So important of a reminder. Your list was wonderfully true. Thanks for that.

Oh, I forgot to put what a beautiful picture of your family. What a sweetie & love, Eva was this last weekend. Karlie talks of her little friends. So much fun to see them all play together!

Isn't it awesome what our precious babes do for our outlook? Ana and Abby have been sick all week so we have stuck pretty close to home and they have been really snuggly (much to my delight). Over and over again I can't seem to stop praising God for my sweeties! Every time I see you with little Eva my heart just about bursts with joy that your baby girl is here, in your arms. The peace and joy in you is radiant Vonda! Eva is such an amazing little girl...I am always bragging about her too!

Great post, Vonda. Love your thoughts. And AWESOME picture...that's one that needs to be blown up huge and framed on the wall, color or even black and white. Beautiful family, and beautiful--all that the picture represents, too.

my dear, deep, articulate, holy, daughter...i wish i could put words to feelings like that...thank you that you do...it helps cement life with God so strongly, i love it! i particularly loved that nothing is worth giving up for fear...Amen to that, sister...Joy, Grace...Gratitude.In the recovery world relapse happens when we stop having gratitude. Relapse can happen with any of us, not just crack addicts, with control, fear, lust, anger...Thank you for highlighting gratitude so well and showing how it is the foundation for all the other things our heart desires; joy, peace, forgiveness, healing, trust, love, grace...i'm going to pass this along to my students, I am so thankful for you!

Beautiful post my dear daughter! Such happiness is caught in those faces. Thank-you Jesus! I love the way Ed seems to be enjoying looking at and enjoying the happiness of his girls. So much enjoyed buying (byeing) :-) shoes yesterday with you for Eva. Thank-you for including me in your first shopping spree with your daughter. It was a precious time. Love, Mom
